A Belmont Tradition: Stafford Jewelers

A couple of weeks ago, Rebekah surprised me with a bracelet for my birthday.

It was a great gift, but there was one small problem.

Like many bracelets, it came with extra links and a little tool so you could size it yourself.

The instructions made it sound easy.

It wasn’t.

After spending far longer than I care to admit trying to remove a couple of links, I finally gave up.

So I did what I’ve done for years.

I took it to my friend, Todd Stafford, at Stafford Jewelers in Belmont.

I’ve known Todd for a long time, and I was actually a customer long before the store became Stafford Jewelers. Back then, it was Padgett’s Jewelry, owned by Todd’s mother, Faye.

Whenever I need jewelry repaired, a watch adjusted, or something looked at by someone I trust, Stafford Jewelers is where I go.

Sometimes it’s just easier — and smarter — to let a professional handle it.

A Belmont Business with Deep Roots

One of the things I appreciate about Stafford Jewelers is that it’s more than just another jewelry store.

It’s a family business that has been serving Belmont and the surrounding communities for generations.

The business traces its roots back to 1929, making it one of Belmont’s longest-standing locally owned businesses. Todd has continued that tradition by providing the same personal service and craftsmanship customers have come to expect over the years.

In a world where so much shopping has moved online, it’s refreshing to walk into a business where you’re greeted by someone who knows the community and genuinely cares about the people walking through the door.

More Than Just Jewelry Sales

Most people probably think of engagement rings or anniversary gifts when they hear “jewelry store.”

Stafford Jewelers certainly helps people celebrate those milestones, but they also do much more.

Services include:

  • Jewelry repair
  • Ring sizing
  • Custom jewelry design
  • Watch repair
  • Appraisals
  • Diamond and gemstone jewelry
  • Restoration of treasured family heirlooms

Whether you’re replacing a watch battery or restoring a piece that’s been in your family for generations, Todd and his team have the experience to do it right.

Why I Keep Going Back

One of the reasons I enjoy highlighting local businesses is because relationships still matter.

When you support a locally owned business, you’re supporting people who have invested their lives in the community.

That’s certainly true of Todd.

I’ve known him for years, and every experience I’ve had with Stafford Jewelers has been exactly what you’d hope for — honest advice, quality work, and friendly service.

Could I have eventually figured out how to resize that bracelet myself?

Maybe.

But sometimes it’s worth letting someone who does it every day handle the job.

In just a few minutes, Todd had it sized perfectly.

No frustration.

No scratched bracelet.

No tiny pins flying across my kitchen table.

My Take

Belmont has no shortage of great local businesses, and Stafford Jewelers is one that’s earned its reputation over decades of serving the community.

Whether you’re shopping for an engagement ring, celebrating a special occasion, repairing a treasured family heirloom, or simply need a bracelet resized after a birthday gift, it’s nice to know there’s a local jeweler you can trust.

For me, that’s Stafford Jewelers.

Thinking About Visiting?

If you’ve never stopped by Stafford Jewelers, I encourage you to do so.

You’ll find more than beautiful jewelry — you’ll find a local business that’s been part of Belmont’s story for generations.

And if you happen to see Todd while you’re there, tell him Craig sent you.
